Belle Stewart is a media producer, educator, DOP and photographer with a three-decade career spanning film, visual arts and creative industries advocacy.
Soon after graduating with a Master of Media Studies from RMIT University, Belle landed a pivotal role at Bristol’s renowned Watershed Media Centre, inspiring her unique multidisciplinary approach across creative direction, media production and cinematography.
Returning to Melbourne in the late 90’s roles in cinematography and DOP, ultimately led to working with screen pioneer Tony Rogers, with whom she co-founded Triple Axel Productions.
Belle refined her passion for teaching at RMIT University and LCI Melbourne where she utilises a structured approach to mentor and develop emerging talent. This close proximity to the next generation of storytellers fuels a circular exchange of knowledge, keeping Belle at the forefront of contemporary behaviour and values-driven storytelling.
Stewart's ongoing photographic series, 'Bodies of Water' a dream-state narrative exploring the nature of ancestral connection - dialogue between generations of female artists and poets in her family.
As a co-founder of Triple Axel, Stewart channels this same rigour into shaping our circular creative economy, actively mentoring the next generation to ensure creative culture remains vibrant, retained and resilient.
